Finisar Introduces 2nd Generation PCI Express Analyzer
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Sep. 08, 2004 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- INTEL DEVELOPER
FORUM -- Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ: FNSR), a leading provider of network
monitoring and analysis solutions announced today the availability of
a 16-bit bus analyzer pod for its industry leading RX-252 analyzer. The
RX-252 analyzer is a product from Finisar's recent acquisition of Data
Transit Corporation in August 2004. The new x16 pod is capable of capturing
traffic from a 16 wide lane. This new version analyzer has advanced features,
including more memory channels and cross-sequence triggering. It is designed
specifically for high-speed, multi-lane, multiple protocol serial buses
such as the PCI Express x16 and Wide Port SAS also introduced earlier
this year.
"Finisar consistently pushes the envelope with devices that press
the limits of today's PCI Express equipment," said Bob Otis, Vice
President of Engineering, Finisar Network Tools. "The scalable RX-252
Series is a system that delivers the test capabilities required by today's
PCI Express vendors and provides test solutions in lockstep with performance
demands."
The RX-252 is an extremely high-performance analyzer with 252 memory channels.
The 252 memory channels enable the analyzer and the control PC to keep
up with the significantly greater data throughput found in buses like
Wide Port SAS and PCI Express x16. To the end user, this means all data
traffic is captured and saved, eliminating the possibility of lost or
dropped packets.
The x16 pod and RX-252 analyzer can capture traffic in one direction but
can also be configured with another x16 pod and RX-252 analyzer to capture
traffic in both directions. Protocol information from both directions
can be displayed together simultaneously on a control PC.
Finisar is showcasing the Bus Doctor RX-252 Analyzer at Booth 1039 at
the Intel Developer Forum September 7th through the 9th in San Francisco.
