10 Gigabit Ethernet Delay - GE10

The GE10 Ten Gigabit Ethernet Network Emulator simulates signal delays and impairments that occur during the transmission of ten Gigabit Ethernet data over optical fiber. This system supports all standard Ethernet frame formats and functions at 100% line rate without dropping any packets (regardless of packet size).

The GE10 functionality can be delivered in an H Series System in the following configurations: HSGE10W-B (WAN PHY), HSGE10L-B (LAN PHY), HSGE10LFD-B (LAN PHY w/255/238 FEC), HSGE10LFO-B (LAN PHY w/255/237 OTU2 FEC).

GE10 capability can also be combined with other Anue solutions (such as SONET/SDH Delay or Fibre Channel delay) to create multi-protocol "Combo" systems.

Product Features

DELAY

Handles 10G Base-LW WAN Phy (9.953 Gbps), 10G Base-LR LAN Phy (10.312 Gbps), 10G Base-LR with 255/238 FEC (11.049 Gbps), and 10G Base-LR with 255/237 OTU2 FEC (11.095 Gbps) data rates.

Fully 10-bit transparent operation: delayed output is logically identical to input signal

* No modification of transmitted signal: 10-bit code words maintained throughout

* Running disparity is unchanged

* Inter Packet Gap (idle fill characters) unchanged

Supports stress testing of auto-negotiation over long distance fiber optic links for Ethernet network testing

Delay is adjustable up to 400 ms (80,000 km) in each direction in one bit (0.1 ns) increments.1

BER
Capable of injecting bit-errors from 10 -15 to 10 -2 error rates

* 1-bit to 64-bit error burst, or 64-bit user defined error pattern
* Error injection can be fixed or random; random distributions sequences include Poisson, Uniform or Gaussian
* Errors injected into both frames and inter-frame gap

Emulates loss of signal, loss of frame and or squelch mode under user or program control

MISC
Optimized for ease of use:

* Front panel LCD control for standalone operation
* Powerful TCL script library enables automated remote testing
* Interactive web based GUI for intuitive remote control

Allows remote monitoring and control via Ethernet
Cost effective alternative to test beds built with fiber spools and optical amplifiers 1

An optional "Delay Doubler" upgrade doubles the maximum delay times.
