GETTING STARTED WITH NETWISDOM


This section details the procedures for running the NetWisdom system. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate procedures to launch, view, and shutdown NetWisdom.
* Identify NetWisdom's modes of operation.
* Demonstrate how to connect to the NetWisdom web interface.
* Demonstrate how to integrate NetWisdom with Network Management software.

NETWISOM PROBE LEASES


This section covers the basics procedures for leasing, displaying and un-leasing NetWisdom Probes. This section includes a discussion on configuring and using Taps in partnership with NetWisdom. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate the ability to set up, lease and un-lease Probes.
* Demonstrate the ability to display Probes.
* Explain how to lease multiple Probes.
* Demonstrate the ability to set passwords for Probe access.
* Configure Probes.
* Demonstrate the ability to locate Probes on other subnets.
* Configure and view Taps.
* Configure Automatic Roving and stop Roving on Tap.
* Assign aliases to Tap ports.
* Demonstrate the ability to assign logical mapping on Tap ports.

NAVIGATING NETWISDOM DISPLAYS: TABLE VIEW


This section covers the basics features and functionality of Table View. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate the ability to configure tables for use in analysis.
* Demonstrate proper procedures to pause and reset Table View.
* Navigate the Pie, Bar and Map view.
* Configure Table View to save table configuration changes automatically.
* Demonstrate the ability to create custom table configurations.

NAVIGATING NETWISOM DISPLAYS: GRAPH VIEW

This section covers the basic features and functionality of Graph View. Upon completion students are able to:

* Configure graphs for use in analysis.
* Demonstrate the ability to add metrics to a graph.
* Set up metric templates.
* Configure the graph display.
* Explain how to print and save graphs.

SUMMARIES & RECORDINGS

This section covers the procedures for creating, playing, and managing summaries and recordings. Upon completion students are able to:
* Describe how to take and play back recordings of network activity.
* Demonstrate the ability to import and export recordings.
* Identify the default summaries.
* Describe how to play back summaries.
* Demonstrate the ability to create custom summaries.

ALARMS


This section covers the basic features and functionality of NetWisdom Alarms. It also covers procedures for configuring and managing alarms. Upon completion students are able to:

* Describe how to set up alarms to monitor the network.
* Describe how to configure and customize alarm actions.
* Demonstrate how to import and export alarm configurations.

RECORDINGS & REPORTS

This section covers the basic procedures for using the schedules and reports features of NetWisdom. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate how to set a schedule of recordings and reports.
* Demonstrate the ability to create a new report template.
* Demonstrate how to create a new report section.
* Describe how to generate each of the three types of reports: Quick Report, Advanced Report, Recording Report.
* Explain how to filter, store, and email reports.

CONFIGURING SWITCH FABRICS & WORLD WIDE NAMES

This section covers the basic procedures for configuring switch fabrics and world wide names. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate the ablility to set up switched fabrics including assigning Probes, removing a switch from the fabric and saving a fabric configuration.
* Configure the WWN nicknames.
* Demonstrate how to import nicknames.

CONFIGURING THE NETWISDOM SNMP AGENT


This section covers the basic procedures for configuring NetWisdom's SNMP agent. Upon completion students are able to:

* Identify NetWisdom integrative packages.
* Demonstrate the ability to configure the SNMP agent.
* Explain the NetWisdom MIB functionality.

FILTERING


This section covers the basics procedures for filtering. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate the ability to set up and disable filters.

NAVIGATING THE NETWISDOM DASHBOARD


This section covers the features and functionality of the NetWisdom Dashboard. Upon completion students are able to:

* Demonstrate the ability to use the standad dashboard.
* Demonstrate the ability to customize the dashboard panels.
