Surveyor Software
THG's intuitive user interface Surveyor provides both a comprehensive
view of the network as well as the ability to easily drill down to a specific
network segment.
Surveyor incorporates comprehensive real-time monitoring capabilities
and protocol analysis with the powerful troubleshooting capabilities of
a protocol analyzer.
These capabilities can function simultaneously, enabling a user to maintain
the network using a single multi-purpose tool. Surveyor delivers unmatched
features, accuracy and flexibility with a completely consistent, easy-to-use
GUI.
Surveyor provides the most feature rich software console incorporating
industry leading 7-layer protocol decodes, extensive expert analysis,
flexible filtering and unique monitoring and measurement. Surveyor reduces
costs, confusion and training requirements. New features of Surveyor allow
for large file analysis enabling network engineers to analyze extended
data traces from hard disks or deep buffers. Special histogram views of
these traces allow the user to select only the relevant portions for download
and analysis, preventing unnecessary overhead and speeding troubleshooting
time.
THG/Surveyor enables the user to easily and simultaneously set capture
filters, view full 7-layer decodes of captured packets and display multiple
real-time MAC, network, and application layer statistics in order to quickly
understand the status and performance characteristics of the network segment.
The user need only double-click on the THGm interface icon segment to
unveil monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
THG/Surveyor Analyzers are best used in conjunction with Finisar Taps
for data acquisition and access to network traffic, including all physical
errors, from both sides of a full duplex link. Taps are fault tolerant
and enable network monitoring or analysis tools to be dynamically inserted
into Ethernet or Fibre Channel segments without breaking the link.
Finisar/Surveyor monitors, measures, analyzes and troubleshoots the entire
LAN from backbone to segment- remotely from one console.
